What owners wrote
My cousin was involved in a crash on may 4th of 1997, in which him and the driver of a 1994 toyota pick were ejected and killed. I took pictures of the truck just a few days after the wreck. The police report and the newspaper reported that neither were wearing seat belts, however according to the photos taking of the truck I see that the passenger seat belt was completely tore out of the side wall of the truck where the brass hex bolt holds it to the inside wall of the cab.
I have owned 6 toyota trucks from 1985 thru 1997 and they all have had seat belt problems. They do not retract all the way and hang out the door and you have to manually retract them back in. This has been a long time know event and in the past toyota has replaced them at no charge. However, when I called customer care and then took it to a toyota dealership in wesley chaple fl. Both the manufacture and the dealer said "sorry you have to pay for it.
