What owners wrote
Driver hit brakes to slow down for approaching stop sign. Brake pedal would not go down. He tried 3 times to make the brake go down. To keep from hitting the car in front of him, he ran off the road into a ditch. Truck was totaled.
The brakes on my 2008 toyota tacoma pickup are very scary. Several times, when just beginning to drive forward from a stop, I have had to slam on the brakes because of an unexpected vehicle or pedestrian. The vehicle stopped, but the brake pedal slowly went to the floor. This made me think the brakes had failed because of a sudden loss of brake fluid. Which was never the case, but very frightening.
