Issue happened after incident in august 2011 and progressively became worse. Steering wheel will lose electrical power to controls (I.e. Stereo controls) and causes airbag warning light to come on and horn will not function at all. Dealer looked into issue and found that the clockspring needed replacement. Clockspring replaced in steering wheel and airbag issue has been resolved but steering wheel control issue still remains along with not having a working horn.
Takata recall I took my car in to get my airbags replaced with a newer version to rusty wallce volkswagen nov.10nth today my driver airbag inflated as soon as I parked it. The key was in the ignition and I was far away from any other car.im glad im ok but this could have been much worse. I am very upset that this happened. I drive a 2009 volkswagen cc. What is the purpose of fixing a faulty recall with another damaged part.
