I was driving and the vehicle started to shaking and vibrating and smoking like hell. Vehicle information displayed stated drive train malfunctions drive moderately. I call up the dealer and they advised me to drive the vehicle to the dealer which was like 2 miles away. When I reach to the dealer location I see smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. The dealer take the vehicle and they said they are going to run a diagnostic test on the vehicle to see what's the problem.
The run flat tire sidewall failed after driving over a very small pot hole. This is the ninth (9th) tire to be replaced in less than 14 months. 8 of the 9 were goodyear eagle ls-2. BMW refused to take responsibility for this defective car. They blamed the goodyear tire. I changed the entire set of tires to bridgestone driveguard and a little over 600 miles later another tire failed. Two of the failures happened at highway speeds and a crash was luckily averted.
While driving, suddenly the car will start shaking with immediate loss of power and the engine light comes on. The main screen displays "drivetrain malfunction: drive moderately. Maximum drivetrain output not available. Consult service center" during the malfunction the car has significant shaking, loses nearly most power and the car must come to an immediate stop andthe engine needs to be turned off. BMW does not have a fix to resolve the issue and every time it happens they replace different parts.
