When driving consumer notice smoke coming from the front end when the vehicle caught on fire due to transmission fluid leaking onto the exhaust manifold which totaled the vehicle. Please provide any further details.
Consumer was involved in an accident in which the brakes failed, the consumer was driving (5) MPH on dry pavement. The vehicle is equipped with antilock brakes.
When applying the ABS brakes, while pulling a load of 1,000 pounds, the pedal went to the floor and there was extended stopping distance, resulting in an accident.
Dt: the caller received recall on one of his vehicles, but not the other. He said they both had the same problem with the windshield wipers not always working. They worked intermittently. The part in recall was the wiper motor. Manufacturer said the vehicle in question was not in recall. Dealer said they wont fix vehicle for free without recall letter.
The windshield wipers on my 95 c1500 works randomly at best. The pump for the fluid also only works some of the time. Some times I'll turn of the wipers and it will take up to a minute for them to start working,other times they work fine and then still other times they don't work at all. Fluid haven't come out of the pump for the last 4 months at all.
