2014 Chevrolet Cruze cruise control problems

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 chevrolet cruze. While driving approximately 15 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal noise and accelerated independently. The contact lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

I entered a grocery store parking lot and drove to the far end to park. As I was pulling into a spot and slowed to about 2 or 3 miles an hour to stop the vehicle and exit the car it suddenly took off at a very fast speed. I could not stop it using the brakes. The car went up and over a grassy island that had about a foot of frozen snow(ice) on it. The car flew off the island and continued at this high speed heading toward a hill. As this was happening I was trying to stop the car using the brake to no avail.
