What owners wrote

Our 2000 monte carlo supersport was parked and had been off for approximately 15 minutes. Before that, it had been driven for approximately 30 minutes and parked for about an hour. Someone came in to tell me it was smoking. There was a great deal of smoke coming from under the hood. We called the fire department and before they could arrive, the car was engulfed. While it was burning, we could hear it trying to start! There is nothing left of the front, engine compartment, or interior, except for the frames.

My 2000 chevrolet monte carlo ls developed a water leak in it on the passenger side in the floor area coming from under the dash. The car is going to be repaired at the same dealership where I bought it new. I was informed by the repair person there has been similar problems with other models made by GM (buick was mentioned). It appears there is a defect in an area under the dash on the passenger side where a passenger air filter was supposed to be but not in my car.
