Car would not start again, raised hood and proceeded to attach jump cables, and at the moment just before attachment, my daughter turns the key and wow, what an explosion! I was injured very bad the whole center of the motor was all over my driveway and I was thrown away from the car. Over 25,000 in medical bills and months of disability and still seeking medical attention to this day.
My husband and I got into my monte carlo ss 2001 to leave work on a cool day and it didn't start so we tried afew more times to start it. I started screaming the cars on fire, flames and heat hit the windshield from the hood so we jumped out and my husband opened it.the fire burned his hair and he backed off and called 911. I grabbed my purse and ran toward the shop we work at and the car made a loud boom that scared me so bad I flew into the building and hurt my back.
Tl* the contact owned a 2001 chevrolet monte carlo. While driving 35 MPH, another motorist informed the contact that flames were coming from the front of her vehicle. While pulling off the roadway the steering wheel locked and all power was lost. There were no warning indicators illuminated. Two weeks prior to the failure, a diagnostic test was performed but no failure codes were found.
The turn signals work when they want to, the oil pressure gauge works when it wants to, the sun roof opens if it wants to. It has been to the dealer on this and they say they can't duplicate the failure. These systems don't work more than do work. This has been happening since the car was purchased in 2001. If you can't help I guess I will have to pay now to have it fixed when it should have been fixed under warranty.
Tl* the contact owns a 2001 chevrolet monte carlo. While driving 60 MPH, the temperature and fuel gauges displayed incorrect readings.
