What owners wrote

Five times truck (17 months old and 21000 miles) has been to dealerships for "service 4 wheel drive" message center indicator, ABS light, parking brake light, alarms, and inoperable. Also problems with clanking felt through the steering wheel. Every time truck was "fixed" by replacing/reprogramming the transfer case module, and lubing of steering column (which manufacture indicates was a poor lube job at construction). Problem recurred.

Reported at 8,236 miles, December 2002

Dt*: the contact stated while driving various speeds, upon attempting a left turn there was a clunking noise from the steering wheel and steering shaft pitman area. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who replaced the intermediate steering shaft kit. After the repair, the steering noise ceased without further incident.
