Vehicle: 2004 chevrolet ssr problem: flimsy hood prop rod and a very heavy hood. The rod slipped and the hood fell. Luckily no one was injured, but could easily have been. Solution: the 2005 chevrolet ssr is reported to have a self supporting pneumatic lift. The 2003 and 2004 ssrs should be retrofitted by chevrolet at no cost to the owner.
2004 chevrolet ssr: hood prop failure. The flimsy hood prop holding the gigantic ssr hood is bent. I have purchased an aluminum hood prop to use instead of the faulty factory thin prop. Many have failed and hoods have fallen all the way closed. Mine would too were I to continue use. Jg
Re: 2004 chevy ssr, hood prop not strong enough to hold hood up. The hood prop bends under the weigh of the hood. The consumer is concerned about the possibility of the hood prop failing and the hood falling resulting in injury or death.
Tl*the contact owns a 2004 chevrolet ssr. While driving at an unknown speed, the check engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic and it was discovered that the catalytic converter failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle also lost power while driving and misfired. The vehicle was towed to a dealer and they stated that the throttle body failed and needed to be replaced. The speedometer works intermittently.
Was going to go to the store and when I turned on the ignition every thing was coming on,the lights, dash all lite up ,I heard the fuel pump and I turned the ignition further to start it and nothing. No click,no turning over, nothing. I shut it off and tried again and same thing. I checked my fuses and found nothing there wrong either. I'm stumped. I will need help with this situation. Can you send me a solution please. Thanks for your time and help. Sincerely, [xxx]
