What owners wrote

When car was 2 months old, we complained to the dealer that the anti-lock brakes didn't seem to work properly in that they locked up and made the car jolt to a stop. Dealer said over phone that this was fine and did not need to look at car. On june 25, 2002, same problem was experienced on I-95 when trying to avoid another car that cut into lane. Brakes did not respond, I lost control of suburban, which rolled over and was totaled.

June 2002 CrashInjury

2002 chevy suburban: grinding noise heard on undercarriage and ABS light came on. Determined the ABS pump was making the grinding sound and further determined an unavailable part costs about $1200 plus labor. There is a waiting list for this part a mile long. Apparently this is a common problem worthy of recall investigation. Dealers temporary solution is to unplug the ABS fuse and drive it until the part comes available. We were told to be careful in the rain as it is unsafe without ABS brakes.
