What owners wrote

I began to notice noise while steering and then difficulty steering, as though the power steering wasn't working. I had some previous undiagnosed leaks on the vehicle while under warranty, but those were never resolved. When I brought the vehicle in to have the steering checked, I was told I needed a repair that would cost $2000, and of course, it was no longer under warranty. I went to another auto shop who estimated a lower cost for the repair, the repair was made, and the difficulty steering began again.

Reported at 44,000 miles, May 2013 Fire

When attempting to steer/turn at low level of speeds usually less than 5MPH the steering is very stiff and requires a lot of effort to turn the vehicle. I also recently felt my steering lock up while merging onto the freeway going at a rate of 50-60 MPH.
