06 dodge caravan (fmi handicap conversion)- issue spewing gasoline: >filled up approx 9am aug 4th 2011 > parked at residence > 2pm preparing to go out-of-town > heard humming from left rear > noticed gas cap appear "cross-threaded" & was "hissing" > me in a electric wheelchair, parked facing cap > my son turned cap > gas spewed out like a fire hydrant point blank in my face > gas did not just spray, it spewed out over a half a tank, spewing it 18-20 feet, lasting about a minute.
Every time I fill the gas tank, it will only take a few gallons before clicking the pump off. After filling tank, while driving, the engine cuts off, thereby cutting power steering and brakes. Check engine light comes on and when checked it says evap system.
