What owners wrote

While driving on I294 northbound between 127th street and approximately 103rd street, the engine on our 2002 ford escape blew up. There was no warning in terms of warning lights or other indicators that there was any problem. Shortly after entering the interstate, the car began to make a motor boating type of sound. It sounded as if the sun roof was not completely closed. Thereafter the engine blew and pieces began to fly out.

Reported at 7,200 miles, April 2003 Fire

2002 ford escape. Catalytic converter problem. Problem began last week when dpfe tubes came off and dpfe sensor melted. The next day the valve next to the dpfe sensor blew a hole and all parts were replaced. The next day one of the dpfe tubes came off again. This was replaced again. The next day the car did not have good gas power. When going up a small incline the car would not go past 40 MPH. Went to car repair shop and o2 sensor was removed to see if it was the catalytic converter.
