Tl* the contact owns a 2017 ford f-350. While driving 45 MPH, the tailgate inadvertently opened and damaged the tail lights. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 27,000.
I took my truck in for a nonrelated repair. When I was there I was informed that there was a safety recall on tailgate opening. I never had a problem with it opening but since it was already at the dealership for other repairs, I okayed the recall repair on the tailgate opening on its on. Now since I have had the repair done on my truck the tailgate opens on its own now. I have taken it back several times for the problem. But I have been told that if they can't verify the problem they can't fix it.
