Experienced extreme and uncontrollable vibration in the steering wheel and throughout the entire truck (death wobble). This happen twice on the same day, 14 january 2018. The first occurrence was at 70 MPH and it did not stop until the vehicle slowed to 50 MPH. The second occurrence was at 60 MPH and did not stop until the vehicle slowed to 45 MPH. Applying the brakes made it worse. The vibrations were so intense it pulled a muscle in my neck. Both occurrences were right after hitting a bump in the road.
Vehicle was in motion on a city street and the fuel injector dash light appeared momentarily and then disappeared . Shortly afterwards, I began to sense the slight smell of diesel and just as I turned into my homes driveway there was a loud burst from the engine compartment and the truck began to smoke. I stopped and shut off the vehicle immediately and exited as I was going to inspect the situation. There were screams of fire coming from my wife as the trucks engine compartment began to roar with flames.
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 ford f-350. While driving approximately 70 MPH over a bump in the road, the vehicle shook and wobbled uncontrollably for approximately fifteen minutes without warning. The cruise control was activated at the time of the failure. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and shut off the engine. The dealer was not aware of the failure and recommended diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired.
I have 30000 miles on truck. I have taken the truck on long road trips with a truck camper loaded in the back with no problems until now. I have had sever wobbling in the steering wheel which has bin happening more and more frequently. I have 2 small boys and my wife in the truck along with the weight of the truck camper and it is starting to scare me. It happens when driving 60 or more and if I hit a rough patch of some sort. Even the safety strips in the road can send the truck into a violent shaking.
