What owners wrote
Soft brakes - 2007 ford fusion accident in which car was totaled. Driving on to on ramp to interstate. Cars slowed in front of us, applied brakes and pedal went to the floor car wouldn't stop and we struck the vehicle in front of us.
I want to add my name to the brake softening issue that occurs on some fusions after the ABS is activated. This has happened several times and it takes days for the brakes to recover. The most recent time occurred last week and the brakes are still soft and the pedal goes to the floor before proper breaking occurs. I am very concerned because if I need to stop quickly to avoid an accident or pedestrian, I am afraid I won't be able to. Please continue to investigate.
