On may 17, 2003 my 4 year old daughter was killed in our driveway by our 2001 GMC yukon. We were cleaning the rear of our vehicle when the vehicle came out of gear and the parking brake failed to hold the vehicle. My 2 year old son was in the vehicle at the time, but there is no way that he could have applied the brake to release the vehicle out of gear. This is something that no family should have to endure and I am asking for help in proving these failures. I feel there are two failures with this vehicle.
Parking brake failure and transmission failure. Resulting in death of 4 year old child. Please sign my petition if you have this problem. [link removed]
Engine stops or will not start. While driving the engine will stop and all power is lost. At times the engine will not start, after waiting several moments the engine will restart. Dealer cannot find the problem in more than a year and more than six visits.
I would like to note that my 2001 GMC yukon xl experiences the same problems as described in your investigation # pe05020 as it relates to ABS brakes at low speeds. I'm hoping that this will be recalled soon so that it can be repaired soon.
