Consumer was inside of vehicle and was unable to get out on driver's side door. Door locked, and would not unlock. Can hear lock mechanism in door when trying to unlock, but door will not open. Dealer contacted.
The driver side door latch failed in the locked position with the door closed. This presented a very real safety hazard as I would not be able to exit the vehicle from the driver's side in an emergency. The repair estimate from the dealership was $1,300 for a $100 part. I went to my honda independent mechanic and paid $505.31. I am filing this complaint because of the safety hazard of this breakdown and price gouging by the dealership.
