The driver's shoulder harness locks up and will not extend so it can be put on. We are told this is normal for and english car and to drive without the shoulder harness. The retractor locks up when the belt is in stow and can not be released. Retractor replaced once and issue continues. Also when in an accident the shoulder harness retractor did not lock and failed to restrain. The entire assembly has been replaced with no improvement. Cw

I would like to post a similar complaint to notify other consumers who owns a jaguar x-type 2002. In august 29 2007, on my way to work the car wouldn't accelerate more that 30 miles per hour. I drove back home and I had the car towed to the nearest jaguar dealership. I had to replace the transmission for a cost of $5,400 with 59,000 miles.
