What owners wrote

This incident started in 2008 and at the time thought it was a failure of the gas pump at the gas station but now the problem is more common and happens weekly, recently splashing gasoline into my eyes which required fluid eye rinse and medical attention. Every time I fill up the tank on my 2006 jeep liberty, the gas begins to overflow and splashes back, out of the fuel inlet opening. This in turn sprays fuel out at a force, and then onto the ground.

Reported at 30,000 miles, June 2008 Injury

Gas tank overflows when fueling because it doesn't sense when its full. I have to stop fueling before I think its full so this doesn't happen, so I am unable to fill tank completely. Spills all over my clothes, on the ground and down the side of my vehicle. Also I smell an electrical burning smell when I'm driving my vehicle sometimes which is very scary.
