The vehicle was parked in a parking lot on a moderately flat surface. The aprking brake had been engaged. I was alerted by local security that my vehicle had rolled out of it's parking spot. It rolled approximately 20 yards into the rear end of another parked car. This parking brake had been "fixed" one time before. The parking brake does not hold on anything more than a flat surface. It's been fixed repeatedly, but within days of being fixed it will "pop" and be too loose to hold the vehicle.
Parking break self releases. According to chrysler the recall was done more than 10 years ago and is therefore no longer covered. How can chrysler not cover this dangerous problem. The vehicle will unexpectedly begin rolling down a slope with no warning. The break will hold for a few minutes or even longer and then release.. If this replacement part is of this faulty a design why can it not be not be replaced with a more dependable one. Is there a replacement "kit" for the recall?
