What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
Had turned on the air in the seat and smelled a plastic burning smell when I parked my car and went in my house to get my swimsuit and towel and returned outside smoke was rolling out of the car. The car was on fire at the drivers side seat.
Passenger side sliding door grinds when attempting electronic closure. Sometimes it doesnt close completely. On this occasion, door was completely closed, no door light on, and while driving on the highway the door electronically opened while at speed. Our 2 year old child was in his car seat on that side providing a life-threatening situation with the open door.
Our 2015 kia second minivan overheated repeatedly in 2020 for unknown reasons resulting in a total engine failure and complete loss of value. After leaving a highway, the minivan overheated, resulting in a blinking engine light. It was quickly parked and later driven to a mechanic, who could not replicate the problem. After a period of operation at normal temperatures, it began to misfire. No warning lights appeared prior to or during these misfires.
