Consumer was driving down road when a fire ignitied in engine. Consumer applied brakes , but they were inoperative. Had to pull emergency brake which caused loss of control ,vehicle spun around before it stopped. Consumer jumped out . Wiring and wheel covers, basically everthing was melted. The cause for the fire could not be found. However, the consumer firmly believes that something was not installed correctly at factory that caused the five month old vehicle to burn.
I have owned a 2000 galant brand new for the past 5 years. I keep up with the service, and always use mitsubishi service department. The past few months however (summer of 2005) - right around the 5 year anniversary date - I notice that every time it rains, the "floor of the driver side is flooded with water". It is such a huge nuisance. There is no evidence of the trail of the water at all.

Currently, the headlights, turn signals, and high beams do not work. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 99v305001 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:switch/wiring). The current and failure mileages were 144,000.
