I would like to report my son's fatal 2000 toyota solara crash. His car went into full speed and hit the trees with speed close to 100 MPH on a residential street with 20 MPH limit. Updated 03/10/10 updated 9/21/2011 updated 09/23/10
Another vehicle cut in front of me and slammed on the brakes, I also applied my brakes. The brakes did not stop the vehicle and I hit the highway divider. The rear hub assembly broke off as a result of the accident. The front left quarter panel was heavily damaged. I have reported the brake problems multiple times to the dealer and each time was told that the brakes are "in spec".
Consumer complained about an ignition switch problem. Driver was able to remove key from the ignition while vehicle was still in drive.
Dt*: the contact stated while driving at 55 MPH there is a vibration in the rear end,. Loud noises can also be heard while driving at lower speeds. The vehicle was taken to dealer. Upon inspection the rear axel needs to be replaced. There is a NHTSA recall, # 00v154000, regarding the suspension: rear. The vehicle has the same problems as indicated in the recall; however it is not included in the recall due to the VIN. Updated 7-13-2006 -
