On sept. 1, 2008, I was driving north through pa. On I-79. I was using the cruise control on my 2007 toyota camry solara for the first time. I pulled into a rest area. As I was about to pull into a parking space, I stopped for some pedestrians to pass by. When I took my foot off the brake to pull into the parking space, my car suddenly accelerated at a very high speed as if I had put my foot on the gas pedal all the way to the floor. I assure you, I barely touched the gas pedal.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 toyota solara. While driving at speeds of 25 MPH, the power steering failed. As a result, the contact was unable to maintain accurate control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The vehicle was destroyed. The current and failure mileages were 24,000.
My two sons were involved in a car accident to where my car ended up being totaled and what is disturbing to me is that the air bags did not deploy at time of impact. The brunt of the damage was on the passenger side which is where my 13 year old was sitting.
Tl*the contact owns a 2007 toyota solara convertible. The contact was driving approximately 5 MPH approaching a stop signal. When pressure was applied to the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly surged forward and crashed into a cement wall. A police report was filed for the incident. The vehicle sustained damages. The contact did not report any injuries. The vehicle was taken to an auto body shop for repairs and to an authorized dealer for inspection. The technician was unable to determine what caused the failure.
Driver and/or passenger headlight will unexpectedly turn off while driving. Headlights will be operating normally and without reason, one of the headlights will go out. This presents a danger to me in my vehicle as well as other vehicles on the road. If I turn off the headlights and turn them on again, the lights will go back on but you don't know for how long before they go out again. Mine is a 2007 toyota solara with approximately 85,000 miles.
