What owners wrote

My 2006 toyota tacoma makes a loud clanking noise upon takeoff. The noise comes from the rear of the truck. A representative from the dealership states that this is normal for the tacoma. If true, this is not good news.

April 2006

I own a 2006 toyota tacoma which I purchased new, and now have 11,347 miles on it. It's an automatic 4 speed ect-I transmission. From date of purchase to present at speeds between 50 and 60 MPH there is a loud gera whine. Below 50 and above 60 it goes away. I think it may be caused by the ring & pinion gears in the differential, although I am not certain.
