My family and I were driving in our 2006 toyota tacoma. We came up to a stop light and we began to slow down to approx 15 miles per hour the truck would not stop and began to accelerate on its own. I tried to stop it but could not control the vehicle and as a result we wrecked into a truck that was in front of us. If is was not for that truck we would have gone into the intersection on a red light.
The frame is rusted so bad. The dealer wouldn’t replace due to the vehicle being registered in Florida as it’s not one of the states affected. But my Toyota came from a Pennsylvania dealer first then shipped to Florida after years of being in Pennsylvania and not having an issue up there. Now I’m stuck with a truck I can’t sell or fix. It’s not right. Where is the quality control on this.
I have a 2006 tacoma that I bought used and it had the limited service campaign e0d (under coating) applied over the rusting frame and was told that toyota will not replace the frame even when it rots through. This is very unsafe and toyota should be held liable for this and forced to replace the frame.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma equipped with hankook roadhandler sport tires, size: p245/75/r16 (na). While driving 65 MPH, there was a vibration in the tires and the rear passenger side tire blew out. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and an eyewitness was able to install the spare tire. The vehicle was taken to sears auto (located at 693 stillwater ave bangor, maine 0441) where it was confirmed that the entire sidewall failed due to a defect of the manufacturer.
