Tl* the contact owns a 2010 toyota venza. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH, another vehicle crashed into the front passenger side of the vehicle. The contact was forced into a cement pole. The air bags failed to deploy. The police were contacted and a report was filed. The driver sustained injuries to the chest, right knee, left thigh, stomach and severe blood loss. The front passenger sustained injuries to the back, neck, and both knees.
I was driving 35 MPH (the speed limit) and was approximately 6-8 car lengths from two cars stopped at a green light waiting for oncoming traffic to clear so they could turn left. I took my foot off the accelerator and onto the brakes but they didn't engage. I then slammed on the brakes. I heard the pulsation as if the ABS brakes were trying to work but they did not engage. I then checked to see if the lane to my right was clear.
Parked the car, locked it. About a minute later noticed smoke, then fire, very intense. The entire engine compartment was destroyed (radiator melted), front tire burned, and the fire damaged dashboard and interior as well. A car parked nearby was also scorched.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 toyota venza. The contact stated that the radio got hot up 145 degrees. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer twice. The dealer replaced the radio but that did not remedy the issue with the temperature of the radio. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and the dealer informed the contact there is nothing they can do. The contact stated this is a safety issue because the radio could cause a fire. The failure mileage was 1,050.
I was driving my vehicle to work with the sunroof closed and the sun visor open when suddenly I heard a loud bang, like a gunshot, and my sunroof shattered. It scared me and nearly caused me to run off the road; thankfully there were no other cars anywhere near me. I am certain it wasn't hit by a rock or something as there were no cars in front of me and also I wasn't near any overpasses.
