The contact owns a 2024 BMW X5. The contact purchased a separate safety package through BMW known as the parking assistance package. The parking assist feature would show the driver the vehicle's intended reverse path on the display screen, the feature then puts the vehicle into the best starting position and steers automatically into the space. The contact stated that while using the feature, the vehicle failed to stop as needed and the vehicle crashed into the back wall of her garage without warning.
