The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Digital and analog speedometers are not synchronized, variation of 3+ MPH. GM states variation is not adjustable, is within specifications, but will not state which reading is accurate. This is a safety issue, since the driver cannot accurately tell if the vehicle is traveling a higher speed than shown on the speedometer.
