Dt*: the contact stated that while driving 35MPH, the brake pedal was depressed in a normal braking situation. The ABS did not engage, therefore the stopping distance was extended. The vehicle was taken to a private repair shop, where the mechanic determined that the ABS system had malfunctioned. There is a NHTSA recall #99v193000, pertaining to the hydraulic antilock brakes. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN.
