What owners wrote
A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.
Traffic was stopped ahead. Applied the brakes to slow down. The blazer did not respond. I hit the brakes as hard as possible when the anti-lock brakes deployed. The blazer still did not slow down. The blazer impacted two (2) other vehicals. The other vehicals left under there own power. The blazer had to be towed. The day was sunny and 92 degrees. The accedent report is on file at baracks 9 in lewis delaware.( DOT number: tire size: p265r75/16 )
While driving had to slam on the brakes and the vehicle hit another vehicle because the brakes failed to stop the vehicle, resulting in injuries.
Owner has ABS brakes, he states that he was involved in an accident and that prior to accident brake pedal went to the floor. He also notes that dealers can not find anything wrong with his brakes.
Tl* the contact owns a 1993 chevrolet blazer. The contact exit the vehicle and within a few minutes the vehicle ignited into flames. There were no personal injuries. The contact and neighbor extinguished the fire. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who detected the faulty fuel injectors which resulted in an engine fire. The vehicle was declared destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 161,000.
The doors and locks are defective. I bought a new 1993 chev blazer. In 1995 the back stuck and would not open. I could open the window but could not open the door. Next in 1997 the passenger door would not open any more. It is locked and will not unlock. Now the driver door is sticking. Out of 5 doors only 2 work correctly. A basic feature such as doors being able to open in an accident is a major concern.
