What owners wrote

Vehicle did not have an outside key door lock on passenger's side. Consumer was unable to enter the vehicle from the outside passenger door. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. The consumer went to put child in the vehicle and noticed the power locks did not work and could not open the passenger door from the outside. The consumer had to open the passenger side door from the inside by reaching over and unlocking the door.

Reported at 120 miles, July 2004

GM is making all their vehicles with manual locks inaccessible from the outside on the passenger side. Dealers are not telling consumers about this. If, as I did, you purchase a two door vehicle with manual locks, you must climb through the driver side to unlock the passenger side. This poses a great safety risk for women and children. The infant must be set down unattended (perhaps on hot pavement) while the mother climbs through to open the passenger door to place the infant in its child seat.
