The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel cap was defective and needed replacement. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 14,000.
Strong gas smell when vehicle is parked after returning from driving. Seems to be coming from the gas tank area. No evidence of any gas leaking, just a strong smell. Can't park the corvette in the garage for fear the gas fumes may ignite. Have an appointment with the dealer set for 7/9/18.
