What owners wrote
Fatal collision occurred on 8/20/15 on sr 126e in lane county, oregon. Vehicle drifted off roadway and sustained frontal impact with large tree resulting in engine fire. This is the third of three chev silverados that have been involved in frontal impacts this year that has resulted in a fire
Exhaust manifold bolts broke off resulting in pinging noise. My mechanic verified the broken bolts and told me this could lead to other more serious problems including possible fire. He also suggested I should contact a GM dealer to see if there was a recall for this problem. I have been driving for more than 50 years and I have never had exhaust manifold bolts just break off.
