Vehicle fire- I was asleep at 5:00 a.m.,when I was awakened by a loud pop or bang. I thought there was a car wreck in front of the house. I went outside to check on the wreck and found smoke coming out of my carport. I ran into the carport to find my 1995 ford e-150 conversion van on fire under the hood. My family was still asleep so I ran back into the house and woke them up and called 911. I ran back outside to the van, put it in neutral and pushed it into the street away from the house.
Tread seperation & blowout resulting in totalization of vehical as well as 3 persons injured( DOT number: tire size: 30950r15 )
Vehicle pulled to the right, dealer made repairs, then vehicle pulled to the left, resulting in an accident/injury.
Dt*: the contact stated after parking the vehicle and entering a store, the contact was notified by the police that there was smoke coming from the vehicle. When the hood was opened there was evidence of a fire in the engine compartment. A police report was taken. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic shop, where the problem was identified as a faulty vehicle speed control switch, as described in the recall letter # 06v286000, vehicle speed control, which the contact had just received.
Dt: contact stated the cruise control switch on the master cylinder melted. A fuse blew out, and the vehicle would not come out of park. This was how they came to notice the burned switch. This happened on 8-16-05. The vehicle is a 1995 ford e- 150 club wagon. There were no problems prior to this. Neither the dealer nor ford have been notified. There was no fire.
