What owners wrote

For the second time in the 40k miles that I have owned my new ford edge the ptu seal has failed. This time when the dealership took it apart to replace, they found metal shavings inside, so they are replacing the entire unit. Horrible smell, very caustic, makes my nose burn. Happens after driving and when you come to a stop or slow down the cabin fills with a noxious smell.

Reported at 43,000 miles, November 2015 Injury

Traveling on secondary road and experienced sudden power loss. "AWD off" message appeared on screen, along with wrench icon. I managed to limp onto the shoulder (thank god I was not on the highway). Car would not rev up or move. I turned the engine off, and restarted it. Everything seemed to be fine at that point, but I am very afraid of this happening during my daily commute on a busy highway.
