The fire started under the hood in the evening hours while parked and in the off position. No one was sighted near the vehicle at the time. Proper authorities were called and investigated the incident. The "hot spot" of the fire appears to be in the power distribution box under the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle is a total loss. This vehicle was used all day and parked for many hours before the fire ignited.

Premature perforated corrosion of entire steel brake line of my 1999 ford expedition eddie bauer 5.4l 4wd was discovered after my brake warning light went on without any perceived problem with braking noted. Inspection of the brakes by a non-dealer vendor revealed a well maintained brake system except for severe corrosion of the entire brake line system with a leak above the gas tank suspected. No repairs were started and the vehicle was immediately delivered to the dealer (al packer ford).
