We were at a stand still in traffic leading to the off ramp, a vehicle came speeding down the on ramp and by his own admission was not paying attention. He then rammed into the back of our vehicle and hit us so hard that it triggered a multi car crash, 6 vehicles in all. During repairs of the vehicle we were told that the engine was experiencing idle surge. It was also noted that this was not due to the vehicle accident. We paid out of pocket some 1,700.00 and we continue to have the same issues.
When I run my A/C in my 2006 ford freestyle and will be trying to back up my car will shut off and my check engine light will come on. Today while driving forward my car sputtered and the orange wrench light came on. Once I stopped I turned off the car and it turned back on and the lights stayed off. I drove home without any problems but I was not using the A/C. I only notice it when I drive with the A/C on which it is summer so it has been happening quite frequently.
I was driving my car and the wrench indicator came on, my car would not accelerate. I've taken my car to the repair shop and was infromed there is a known issued with ford freestyle 2005-2006 and the CVT transmission. I reviewed and it appears ford knows this is an issue, but refuses to recall/repair it. I will be seeking legal action if ford does not pursue a recall on this vehicle and it's known issue with the CVT transmission.
