What owners wrote
My 74yr old mom hit a 1 foot tall concrete barrier (picture attached) at a county rural recycling center resulting in all 4 airbags to deploy. Barrier isn't painted, no fence, no railing or pole to mark it. Minor damage (photo attached) to the auto, bosch recorder shows <15 MPH (file too large to attach). Car is in a storage unit in iowa for evidence. Mom's prognosis was subdural hematoma, encephalopathy and uncal herniation resulting in her death (see attached).
I had taken my vehicle to the dealer 4 times for repair due to the air bag light coming on while driving. Each time they told me it was fixed and then would come back on within a few weeks. They also told me its only a light malfunction and the airbag would deploy so don't worry too much. Then I saw NHTSA campaign number: 14v597000 and saw that it may not deploy and was very frustrated.
