What owners wrote

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 ford fusion. After parking the vehicle, it caught on fire without warning. The contact noticed flames and smoke after the door was opened. The seat was burned. The fire extinguished on its own. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the fire was due to an outside source; however, the police report and insurance company diagnosed that the failure was caused by faulty wiring. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired.

While attempting to charge the parked vehicle in my garage, I plugged in the 110-volt charger that came with the car into the wall before plugging it into the vehicle. It sparked and nearly caused a fire. Upon inspection, it was clear the plug was overheating over time and caused a short in the wiring adjacent to the plug. The oem of the unit was made by clipper creek. I reported this issue to clipper creek as well.
