What owners wrote

Tl*the contact owns a 2005 honda crv. The contact noticed smoke coming from the driver side window switch and when he touched it the switch was hot, causing it to melt the wires together. He opened the door panel and removed the switch. The dealer nor manufacturer were informed of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The current and failure mileages were 151,000.

Reported at 151,000 miles, June 2011 Fire

The driver side master window switch failed causing the part to get very hot, melt, and emit smoke from the switch. This could have very easily started a large fire in the vehicle. Once the switch is melted, it shorts out the circuit causing the fuses to pop and the window will no longer operate. I contacted a honda dealership and discovered the same part # used in the 2006 model is recalled for this very same reason.
