Started the car in the parking lot. The engine was idling a bit rough. Put the car in drive. Suddenly the engine roared and accelerated. Tried to apply the brake. It did not work. Fortunately did not hit any other cars in the parking lot. The car jumped over the curb at the edge of the parking lot, went into a ditch and hit a tree. Came to a stop. The airbag was activated. The engine was still running at high RPM. Fortunately this malfunction happened in a parking lot and not on a busy city road !!!!!
