Reported at 40,000 miles, August 2013 CrashInjury

I started the jeep and traveled normally for about a third of a mile on local streets. The problem started when I turned onto a collector street from a local street applying full throttle. When I lifted my foot off the throttle pedal the jeep kept accelerating. The electronic throttle control warning light went on. I stopped the car by applying the brake and putting the transmission in neutral. The engine continued to rev at about 4000 RPM with the jeep stopped.
