When making a left hand turn on city road, aprox 25MPH the passenger headrest SRS system malfunctioned and sprung open hitting passenger in back of head causing neck injury.
As described above. Instead of blowing a fuse , fuse housing melted from fire and heat requiring replacement of the entire housing with all fuses and relays. I brought it up to mercedes benz attention and their response was as the part got replaced at this point it is only an "alleged" problem. They do not want to accept their own service mechanic 's description of what happened. I am afraid this car has all the potential of bigger fire hazard and potential for accidents and deaths.
ABS and esp warning indicators came on. Was told my warranty had just expired days earlier and that only one sensor was bad but they have seen this quite often and recommending changing all 4 sensors. I said it sounded like a product defect and complained to service manager. He said he would warranty the one bad part and not to worry about the others. That's fine but what about the commonality of this part going bad followed by others failing shortly afterwards?
Takata recall dealer keeps stating that they do not have parts from tekata. I need this taken care of before a tragedy happens.
