What owners wrote

A few complaints as filed, shortened and with personal details removed. The first ones are among the most serious reports for this model year; the rest are typical.

While traveling w/b on I78 into Pennsylvania I noticed my car suddenly veering to the left. I stopped at a toll booth to proceed to the next exit to check on the problem and as I accelerated out of the toll booth the car began to fishtail wildly. After being able to bring the car under control I pulled off to the shoulder expecting, from the sound of the scraping metal, to find a blown tire.

August 2022 Injury

BCI (Back-up Collision Intervention) Malfunction. It's random when this comes up on the dashboard warning lights. It lights up several other things as well. It doesn't allow you to use the cruise control, or the 4-wheel drive. It disables the ABS and traction control. I don't know how this is not a recall, because I see several forums talking about this issue for this vehicle specifically in this year. We took it to the dealership, and they brushed it off, and claimed they didn't know how to fix it.

February 2023 Crash

While driving, the brakes will engage involuntary and most the lights on the dashboard light up. A message bci malfunction appears. Car can not accelerate at a safe speed until car is parked and restarted. Sometimes it will not start up immediately, leaving the occupants of the vehicle stranded.

Reported at 65,000 miles, August 2020

During normal driving, bci light will appear and then all dash warning lights and car will handle sluggishly. Upon stopping and attempting to restart car, vehicle will not start for upwards of 30 minutes. Once vehicle is in park and vehicle is restarted...gear shift cannot be moved from park to drive. This has endangered my family by occuring at traffic lights at busy intersections and unprotected railroad crossings. Please investigate this before someone is killed because of this defect.
