Reported at 100,000 miles, October 2012 CrashInjury

I am submitting etm failure in my 2000 volvo v70 se wagon in october of 2005. I am concerned for my safety driving this car because the car hesitates upon acceleration, there's sudden and unexpected transition into reduced performance operation (limp mode) and sometimes when the ets indicator has engaged while my foot is on the brake the car surges forward as if I were giving it a lot of gas.

Reported at 79,500 miles, October 2005

With only 80,000 miles, after 5 years of driving, the engine is warning that the electronic throttle system' (ets) failed. The dealer and an independent repair shop only can replace the ets module at a cost of $1,200. The replacement part is actually the same as the failed part with no improvement. Searches on the internet showed that this part failed over and over again.
