What owners wrote
1,100 miles into owning our new 2007 silverado, a loud clunk was heard pulled over to find the left rear axle shooting oil and smoking like crazy. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership. 10 days later and over 8 hours of work the rear axle was rebuilt. Unclear as to why. ..still working on that issue.
As to date, december of 2012, there are over 212 complaints to NHTSA about the quality of the 2007 silverado pickup,be it 1/2 ton or any other. Why hasn't the above administration done something about the problem? My own problem with my vehicle is on the list of complaints as I have already filed a complaint with NHTSA, but to no avail.the GM manufactures have sold the consumer a bill of goods.
