What owners wrote
We had driven less than half a mile, and we’re sitting in traffic to turn when all of the warning lights came on and the van shut off. We restarted the car and the same thing happened. Then there was a popping noise and smoke began coming from under the hood. Within 2 minutes the van caught on fire. The entire engine compartment burned, as did the windshield and part of the dashboard.
2010 odyssey w/ about 70k miles. Engine started misfiring. There was a recall on this, but honda is saying it expired, and I am not eligible for cost coverage, and the repairs only have a 50% chance of fixing the issue. I bought the car used in 2019, and they say the recall expired 8 years after make year. I was driving my family to the beach and it began struggling to accelerate. White smoke was coming out exhaust.
